Question 3

Who can apply for Student Finance (SFE)?

UK and EU students with Settled or Pre-Settled Status who meet the residency requirements (typically 3 years ordinarily resident in the UK/EEA before the course start date) can apply for a tuition-fee loan + maintenance loan through Student Finance England. Your advisor will walk you through eligibility during your consultation.

Can I study in the UK without a degree or A-levels?

In many cases, yes. Foundation Year programmes are designed for students without traditional academic qualifications, and mature applicants (21+) can often use relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications. We'll match you to the right entry route.

Question 5

What English level do I need?

Most undergraduate programmes ask for IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no band below 5.5. Foundation Years typically accept IELTS 4.5–5.0. If English isn't your first language, we help you prepare for and book the test as part of the application.

How long does the application process take?

For UK home students with documents ready, applications can be submitted within 1–2 weeks and offers typically come back within 2–4 weeks. International applications are longer — allow 8–12 weeks to account for visa processing (CAS → visa application → decision).

Do I need to visit the UK to apply?

No. The entire application can be handled remotely — documents via secure upload, interviews via video call, offer letters emailed. You only need to arrive in the UK for enrolment week at the start of your course.

What's the difference between a Foundation Year and an HND?

A Foundation Year is a 1-year stepping stone into a Bachelor's degree (so the total is 4 years instead of 3). An HND is a 2-year standalone qualification at Level 5 — you can either enter work directly or top up to a full Bachelor's with one additional year (HND + Top-Up = full degree).

Can I work while studying?

UK students can work unlimited hours. International students on a Student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during term and full-time during holidays. Your advisor can help you plan study + work balance during your consultation.

What happens after I arrive in the UK?

We stay in touch after enrolment. We help with arrival logistics (airport pickup referrals, first-week orientation), flag any issues with your university, and check in periodically to make sure you're settling in. Our student support doesn't end when your course starts.
